Overview
Moes is a Tuya-platform brand that has carved out a niche in wall-mounted controls: smart switches, rotary dimmers, scene knobs, thermostats and radiator valves, in an unusually wide range of finishes. If your goal is a coordinated look across a whole flat - matching glass switch plates in every room - Moes is one of the more affordable ways to get there.
Because it builds on Tuya, everything runs in the familiar Smart Life app alongside devices from other Tuya brands, and the Zigbee models can be lifted onto an open hub for local control. Moes essentially takes the Tuya platform and dresses it in nicer, more consistent hardware.
How Moes works
Moes devices are Tuya Zigbee or Tuya Wi-Fi. The Zigbee ones - most of the switches, dimmers and heating controls - need a Tuya Zigbee gateway and then behave as part of the low-power mesh, which is the better choice for a home full of wall controls. The Wi-Fi models connect straight to the router for simpler, smaller installs.
The heating range is a particular strength. Moes thermostats drive electric floor heating and boilers, and its radiator valves bring per-room scheduling to ordinary radiators, all controlled from the same app as the lighting. For a flat with mixed heating, that single point of control is genuinely useful.
As with all Tuya Zigbee hardware, the open-source community supports many Moes devices in Zigbee2MQTT, so you can run the switches and thermostats locally and keep them working through an internet outage - worth planning if reliability matters to you.

Moes in a real home
The most common Moes project is re-plating a whole home's switches. Swapping ordinary switches for matching Moes glass panels instantly modernises the look while making every light app- and voice-controllable and schedulable. The choice of one-, two-, three- and four-gang versions covers most wall positions.
Heating is the second big use. A Moes thermostat on the living-room wall and TRVs on the bedroom radiators let each room follow its own schedule - warm where you are, cool where you are not - which is where the savings come from over a single house-wide setting.
Scene controllers add the finishing touch. A Moes smart knob or scene switch by the door can trigger 'leaving' and 'arriving' scenes with a press, turning several automations into one physical control that anyone in the home can use without opening an app.
What to know before you buy
The main practical check is the neutral wire. Many smart wall switches need a neutral, and while Moes offers no-neutral versions of some models, you must match the exact model to what your wall box provides. Confirm this before buying a set for a whole flat.
Also remember that Moes quality and behaviour follow the Tuya platform. That means a mature app but also the platform's cloud dependency out of the box, and occasional quirks between firmware versions. Choosing Zigbee models and planning for an open hub gives you the most control over long-term reliability.
