Family Home Video Surveillance with Hikvision

Home video surveillance isn't about fear — it's about the peace of mind of knowing what's happening at your door while you're at work or the kids are walking home from school. Hikvision cameras and NVR systems are among the most widely used in Latvia and the Baltics, and we help you choose and set them up so they actually serve your family.

How we do it together with you

How we do it together with you

01

A conversation about your home

We talk about where your family actually needs peace of mind — the front door, the yard, the garage — and where cameras can be placed with respect for your privacy and your neighbours'.

02

Choosing the cameras

We choose between bullet cameras (visible, a clear signal outdoors), dome or turret cameras (more discreet, good for entrances and indoors), or occasionally a PTZ camera for larger properties.

03

Installation

If your home already has coaxial cable from an older system, we can use Turbo HD technology without rewiring the whole house. For new IP cameras, an NVR with built-in PoE keeps cabling simple — one cable carries both data and power.

04

Setting up Hik-Connect

We set up the Hik-Connect app on your phone with a strong password and two-factor authentication, because it's the remote access point into your home — worth locking down properly from day one.

What makes Hikvision family-friendly

What makes Hikvision family-friendly

ColorVu

See in colour at night, not a blurry black-and-white shadow

ColorVu technology lets you view video in colour even in low light — instead of the grainy black-and-white silhouettes you get with traditional infrared night mode.

Fewer false alarms

AcuSense technology is better at telling people and vehicles apart from the cat, blowing leaves, or passing shadows — fewer pointless phone notifications, more trust in the ones that matter.

Check in from your phone, anywhere

With the Hik-Connect app you can see what's happening at home whether you're at work, on the road, or on holiday — without wrestling with router settings.

A camera for every spot

A bullet camera works well as a visible deterrent outside; a dome or turret is a more discreet choice for entrances or indoors. We choose based on what actually suits your home and family.

Simpler cabling

Many Hikvision NVRs come with built-in PoE ports — one Ethernet cable per camera carries both the picture and the power, keeping installation neater and quicker.

Privacy done thoughtfully

We aim cameras at your own property, not a neighbour's yard or window — video surveillance should bring your family peace of mind without stepping on anyone else's privacy.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I watch the video from my phone when I'm not home?

Yes — with the Hik-Connect app you can view live video and recordings from your phone anywhere with an internet connection, no complicated router setup needed.

Will the night picture be blurry and black-and-white?

Not necessarily — ColorVu technology lets you see a colour picture even in low light, so many details are clearer than with traditional black-and-white night mode.

Will it send an alert every time the cat walks by?

AcuSense technology is trained to tell people and vehicles apart from animals or moving leaves, so you get fewer false alarms than with plain motion detection.

How long are recordings kept?

That depends on the configuration — resolution, settings, and hard drive size. We always confirm this individually for your system rather than quoting one number for everyone.

Won't the cameras intrude on our neighbours' privacy?

We plan camera placement so they face your own property, not a neighbour's yard or windows — respecting privacy is part of the planning, not an afterthought.
